Data can be imported from a file in the AGS Format (www.ags.org.uk). This functionality is available under Import - Other File Types
The following AGS Groups are imported in the default setup.
AGS Group ESdat Table
ABBR Various
CNMT Chemistry Results
CODE Chemistry Results, zRef_Chemistry_Lookup
CORE Geology Samples
DISC Geology Defect Mapping
HOLE Location, Boreholes
POBS Waterlevel
PREF Wells
SAMP Chemistry Samples (where data related to the SAMP record is in the CNMT table)
WSTK Borehole Waterstrike
The import process performs the following actions:
Data is imported from the AGS file to an Access database called "AGS.mdb" which matches the AGS Group and Field structure.
AGS.mdb has extra fields which can be used to map AGS codes to ESdat codes (such as AGS Chemistry Codes to standard ESdat ChemCodes)
Data is migrated from "AGS.mdb" to the ESdat database following instructions in a gedt file named "AGS_to_ESdat.gedt"
Both AGS.mdb and "AGS_to_ESdat.gedt" are found in the "Templates" directory and can be customised.
ESdat ChemCodes and AGS Codes:
By default the AGS Codes are changed to the standard ESdat codes on import. This matching occurs in the "CODES" table in the AGS.mdb file. If you wish to retain the AGS Codes all data in the "ESdat ChemCodes" field of the "Codes" table should be deleted. ESdat functionality will be unaffected however if you are A) using the standard environmental standard files in the library provided, or B) importing lab files in the "ESdat" (As opposed to AGS) format you will need to match the compound names to the AGS codes.
